There are a lot of chiropractors in Royal Oak. Here is what we want you to know about Van Every Family Chiropractic Center before you ever walk through the door: we have been serving this community since 1997, and our three doctors bring more than 60 years of combined experience to every visit.
What actually sets us apart is the combination of technique and philosophy. Our founder, Dr. Anna Saylor, is a certified instructor in Koren Specific Technique (KST), a precise, instrument-assisted approach that lets our doctors find and correct nervous system interference without cracking or twisting the spine. Dr. Zach Conner teaches Talsky Tonal Chiropractic (TTC), a hands-on, tonal method that works with the nervous system directly rather than through an instrument, and Dr. John Johr brings decades of tonal-technique experience to that same standard. Together, our doctors bring both KST and TTC to the table: gentle, nervous system focused care built around what your nervous system actually needs, not a generic protocol applied to everyone who walks in.
We are also a family practice in the fullest sense. The same gentle approach that works for a newborn works for a grandparent coming in for a wellness check, because it is built around precision, not force.
What Patients Notice Right Away
No cracking or twisting, which surprises plenty of people who walked in expecting a traditional adjustment. Real assessment instead of guesswork, using objective, precise tools to see how the nervous system is actually functioning before anything gets recommended.
A true family practice, with newborns, kids, parents, and grandparents cared for under one roof, and the same gentle standard for everyone who walks through the door.
Two Techniques, One Standard
Dr. Saylor teaches Koren Specific Technique (KST) to other chiropractors nationally, and Dr. Conner teaches Talsky Tonal Chiropractic (TTC), which means the techniques you receive here come from the source. Dr. Johr brings decades of tonal-technique experience to that same standard.
KST uses a handheld instrument called the ArthroStim to check and correct the spine with precision, while TTC is hands-on, working with the nervous system's tone directly. Both are gentle by design, no cracking, popping, or twisting, and both can be delivered seated, standing, or in whatever position works for you.
What a Visit Looks Like
Our doctors start with a real conversation about your history and what brought you in, not a rush to the table. From there, objective, non-invasive INSiGHT scanning, which measures thermal patterns, heart rate variability, and muscle activity (sEMG) along the spine, gives us an actual picture of how your nervous system is functioning, so recommendations are based on data rather than a guess.
You will know how your nervous system is progressing and what a realistic plan looks like, reviewed at every visit, a standard we have held since 1997.
