Looking for a chiropractor who doesn't crack your back?
You can receive chiropractic care without forceful cracking, twisting, or popping. At Van Every Family Chiropractic Center, our three doctors use low-force approaches and explain what they plan to do before the contact is made.
Our office is in Royal Oak and serves families from Birmingham and Troy. Care is based on your history, examination, INSiGHT scan findings, comfort, and goals, rather than one standard adjustment for every patient.

How gentle, low-force care works
Koren Specific Technique can use an ArthroStim instrument to deliver quick, precise impulses without broad twisting. Patients can be checked in a seated, standing, or lying position when that better fits their examination and comfort. Dr. Anna Saylor, the founder and primary doctor at Van Every, is an international instructor of Koren Specific Technique.
Talsky Tonal Chiropractic uses gentle hands-on contacts and evaluates the NeuroSpinal system as a connected whole. The purpose of care is to support nervous-system function and the body's ability to adapt and recover, with the approach guided by each person's assessment and goals. Dr. Zach Conner is one of only two certified instructors of Talsky Tonal Chiropractic in the United States.
Both techniques give our doctors options for patients who specifically want no cracking, no twisting, and no popping. Learn more about how the methods compare on our chiropractic techniques page.
Your two-visit start
Visit one is for gathering information. Your doctor takes a detailed history, completes an examination, and uses INSiGHT scans that can include thermography, surface electromyography, and heart rate variability. There is no adjustment at the first visit.
Visit two is the Report of Findings. Your doctor explains what was found, reviews a care plan when appropriate, and provides the opportunity for the first adjustment. You can ask questions and talk through positioning or comfort preferences before care begins.
The new patient center walks through the process in more detail.
