The Perfect Storm Webinar
You have been told it is five different problems. What if it is one?
The focus struggles. The meltdowns. The tummy troubles. The sleepless nights. Most families collect them one appointment at a time, each with its own specialist, its own label, and its own plan, and still feel like nobody has looked at the whole child.
For so many of the families we see at Van Every Family Chiropractic Center, those struggles trace back to one overwhelmed nervous system. We call it the Perfect Storm. Once you can see the pattern, the next step gets a lot clearer.

How the storm builds
What if all of the common neurological challenges our kids face today started brewing years ago?
No single one of these causes the Perfect Storm on its own. It is the stacking that matters, and it usually starts earlier than parents expect.
Fertility challenges
Stress and interventions during the fertility journey can shape how a nervous system starts developing, before a child is ever born.
Prenatal stress
A stressful pregnancy floods the developing baby with the same stress chemistry mom is running on, and the developing brain and nervous system adapt to it.
Birth interventions
C-sections, forceps, vacuum extraction, and long or difficult labors place real physical strain on a newborn's head, neck, brainstem, and upper spine, the exact region that regulates the vagus nerve.
Toxic load
Early and repeated rounds of antibiotics and other medications, along with environmental toxins, add pressure to a small body's gut and immune systems.
Nervous system stress
Each layer stacks on the last until the nervous system gets stuck in a protective, high-alert state: dysautonomia, vagus nerve dysfunction, and poor brain-to-body communication.
The neurological connection
The autonomic nervous system runs everything your child never has to think about: digestion, immune response, heart rate, sleep, and emotional regulation. When that system gets stuck in a high-stress, fight-or-flight state, the effects do not stay in one place. They show up across many body systems at once, which is exactly why the struggles travel together.
From a neurologically focused chiropractic viewpoint, a subluxation is not just a structural issue in the spine. It is a disruption in the body's ability to communicate, adapt, and heal on its own.
The vagus nerve matters most of all here. It is the body's main "rest, digest, and connect" pathway, and it helps regulate digestion, inflammation, immune response, mood, and sleep. Supporting vagus nerve function and calming sympathetic stress is at the center of how our doctors care for kids.
How we help at Van Every
Our doctors use gentle, neurologically focused pediatric care to measure how a child's nervous system is functioning and support better regulation. The short version: we do not guess, we test.
Objective neurological assessment
INSiGHT scans (thermal, heart rate variability, and surface EMG) show us where a nervous system is carrying stress and how much, with no pain, no needles, and no radiation. They also let us track real change over time instead of relying on guesswork.
A personalized care plan
Care is built around your child's history, scan findings, your goals, and the stress patterns your family is living with right now.
Gentle adjustments
Using Koren Specific Technique, Talsky Tonal Chiropractic, our doctors deliver light, nervous-system-focused contacts. No cracking, no popping, no twisting. Babies are often adjusted asleep in a parent's arms.

Perfect Storm questions parents ask us
What is the Perfect Storm in pediatric chiropractic?
The Perfect Storm is a framework, developed by PX Docs, that explains how early stressors layer on top of each other: a stressful pregnancy, a hard or intervened birth, and an early load of antibiotics and other medications. Together they can push a child's developing nervous system into a stuck, high-stress state, and that one dysregulated system shows up as many different struggles at once, from colic and ear infections to ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing, and sleep and gut problems.
Who teaches the webinar?
Our doctors at Van Every Family Chiropractic Center in Royal Oak: Dr. Anna Saylor (founder, board-certified pediatric diplomate and Koren Specific Technique instructor), Dr. John Johr, and Dr. Zach Conner. They have cared for Royal Oak families since 1997 and teach the same framework they use with the kids in our office every day.
How does chiropractic help with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or sensory processing?
By supporting the nervous system underneath them. When a child's system is stuck in stress, focus, mood, sleep, and digestion all feel it. Gentle, scan-guided adjustments help that system regulate and help the body do its own work. It is a drug-free way to support the root cause, alongside the care your family already trusts.
My child already sees a pediatrician and a therapist. How does this fit?
Alongside them. Neurologically focused chiropractic works with the medical and therapeutic care your family already relies on. We support the nervous system at its foundation, and we are glad to coordinate with your child's other providers.
Is this safe and gentle for babies and kids?
Our care is gentle by design: light, specific, nervous-system-focused contacts with no cracking, popping, or twisting. The pressure used on an infant is about what you would use to check a ripe tomato. Dr. Anna Saylor holds a board-certified pediatric diplomate (DICCP), and all three of our doctors care for babies and children every day.
What are INSiGHT scans, and do they hurt?
INSiGHT scans are three quick, painless measurements of nervous system function: thermal (temperature patterns along the spine), heart rate variability (how well the body adapts to stress), and surface EMG (muscle tension patterns). There are no needles and no radiation. Most kids find them interesting, and the results show us exactly where and how much stress a nervous system is carrying.
Will there be a pressured sales pitch?
No. This is an educational webinar, and our goal is to give you clarity and hope. If you decide you would like our support in helping your family move through the Perfect Storm, we will be ready. But never pushy.
