The Perfect Complement to Your Chiropractic Care

Alleviate pain and stress with massage therapy—one of the most effective complementary treatments today, and it’s appropriate for all ages!

Everyday stress and muscle overuse can lead to pain. Massage therapy offers a natural, noninvasive approach that can help your body heal itself.

Techniques Tailored to Your Needs

Our massage therapist, Heather, has been integral to our treatment team for over 20 years. She has considerable experience in a broad array of techniques.

Because each person’s body is unique, we tailor our approach to your specific needs, focusing on areas of concern to provide relief and promote healing. As our focus is on functional massage we offer a lot of deep tissue massage that allows us to address various issues such as tense muscles, muscle spasms, misaligned muscle fibers, and restricted joints’ range of motion.

Our massage therapy techniques vary to cater to all our patients’ needs. From lymph drainage to prenatal massage, our therapist pays utmost attention to your comfort and safety. Our methods seamlessly integrate with chiropractic care, accentuating pain relief and wellness.

For mothers-to-be, prenatal massage can provide fantastic support for the body, especially targeting the pelvis and the hips. Heather has been trained in prenatal massage and is knowledgeable about which areas to focus on and areas to avoid during pregnancy (especially as you get closer to your due date), ensuring the utmost comfort and safety throughout the treatment.

In addition to massage, we utilize a unique tool called Vibracussor for specific injuries and areas. It offers a quick, two-minute massage to help pinpoint and alleviate pain more efficiently, a service we provide in any of our rooms.

A Multitude of Benefits

Massage therapy has many benefits, such as increased circulation, range of motion, and joint flexibility. Massage can also decrease stress, anxiety, and muscle spasms and elevate endorphin release.
A broad spectrum of conditions respond well to massage therapy, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Back pain/injuries
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Depression
  • Pain due to pregnancy/labor
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Neuropathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Repetitive body strains
  • TMJ

Heather listens to what’s brought you in, discusses your areas of concern, and then provides a massage that’s based on what your body needs. She also works with our chiropractors to enhance patients’ treatment plans by providing muscle relaxation that can complement spinal adjustments and contribute to overall wellness.

Each session is 60 minutes long and varies due to our customized approach.

Please note that if you need to cancel an appointment, we ask you to cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged the full amount.

Can I receive a massage if I'm a chiropractic patient?

Absolutely! Massage and chiropractic care work wonderfully together, and complement each other quite nicely. A massage helps to loosen up tense muscles and stiff joints. When they’re looser and more mobile, you’ll likely hold an adjustment longer, giving your body the best chance for long-term adaptability.
Can I receive a massage if I'm not a chiropractic patient?

Yes! You don’t need to be under chiropractic care with us to book a massage, though you’re certainly welcome to book an initial consultation with us to learn more about how chiropractic may benefit you.
Should I get adjusted first or get a massage first?

This really depends on your schedule and when you’re able to see us. It’s whatever works for you!
What type of massage is right for me?

We’ll discuss your pain points and problem areas before beginning a massage so that your therapist can craft the perfect option for you. Traditionally, relaxation massages and deep tissue massages offer excellent relief for those seeking to reduce tension and loosen tight muscles. We’re also proud to offer prenatal massages for our expectant mothers, and massages specifically designed to reduce stress in the body.
Is a massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes! We regularly book massages for pregnant women who are seeking to reduce stress and tension in their body as well as those who find it helps them hold an adjustment longer. During a prenatal massage, your therapist will likely focus on your pelvis and hips to ensure the muscles and ligaments in the area are loose and functioning to the best of their ability. We’ll also chat with you before we begin to make sure we address any and all concerns that you have. We want you to be comfortable and relaxed-you deserve it, mom!
Do you offer massages for teachers?

If you’re a teacher in Michigan, we’d love to see you in the practice! Under your health coverage, you’re entitled to 38 massages every year, and we’ll handle the billing on your behalf if you’re also under chiropractic care with us. If you have additional questions, please give us a call.
How does a massage reduce stress?

Massage is designed to stimulate blood flow, which ultimately helps reduce inflammation that can cause physical stress in the body. In addition, massage reduces tension and tight muscles, which can harbor stress. Most of our clients walk out feeling refreshed and revitalized, looking forward to visiting us again.
Is this service covered by insurance?

It depends on your insurance coverage and plan. Some BCBS plans cover massages. Messa covers up to 38 massages a year, as long as it is medically necessary.
Do I have to disrobe?

You can disrobe to your comfort level.
How much does this cost?

A one-hour massage costs $85.
Should I do anything in particular after my massage?

Drink plenty of water and rest afterwards.
How does this help my chiropractic care?

Massage and chiropractic care work wonderfully together, and complement each other nicely. A massage helps loosen up tense muscles and stiff joints. When they’re looser and more mobile, you’ll likely hold an adjustment longer, giving your body the best chance for long-term adaptability.
